about
I've been singing songs and playing music in the pubs and clubs of Edinburgh and Scotland for more than 25 years and I've met people from all over the world and different walks of life. Canadians have been very friendly and offered me many small tokens, such as badges, flags and key rings. I even have a flag from Nova Scotia. I'd like to visit Canada and play at any venues and festivals that will have me, and go on TV or radio chat shows in Canada - and get paid.
lyrics
They’re all Canadian
(Ils sont tous Canadienne)
1st Verse
When I was just a small wee lad, a distant memory.
My father sat me down and said, “We stand on guard for thee.”
The seed’s been sown and I have grown to walk upon the land
When asked I’ll tell, whisper or yell, “They’re all Canadian.”
They’re all Canadian…..4 times
1. They’re all Canadian, you can see it in their eyes
Look a little closer and you know it’s no disguise.
Proud of the free universal care on health.
Young, old, rich or poor, regardless of you wealth.
2. They’re all Canadian, the Mounties always get they’re man
And if you stop the stutter you can say “Saskatchewan.”
They’re known to be most friendly as a rule.
Except when playing hockey where they sometimes lose the cool.
3. They’re all Canadian, Justin Bieber who is he?
We love Neil Peart, Alex Lifeson, Geddy Lee.
Then our man Captain Kirk he is the best
Big and strong and mighty with a massive hairy chest
4. They’re all Canadian, and they’re all around the world
In the Arctic Circle – 49th Parallel.
Lester B. Pearson’s never out of luck
Then Wayne Gretsky lines up to shoot the puck
5. They’re all Canadian, Winnipeg it makes a mint
60 different countries, lots of money if you’re skint
The two headed elk he doesn’t want no trouble
“Don’t you ever mess with me, I’ll pay you back with double!”
6. They’re all Canadian, and they love to beat the states
Especially at Hockey when they sharpen up the skates.
They were all Canadian, some were calm, some were hyper.
Silent Mary Pickford and Rowdy Roddy Piper
2nd Verse
Now the song’s been sung, the bell has rung, it’s time to pay your tax
From the West, Vancouver Island rain and back east to Halifax
Say the Quebecois in Yellow Knife where it gets to 50 below
We’ll sing this song and do no wrong, in Sudbury, Ontario
They’re all Canadian…4 times
2 Big Verses
